DUBAI — Beneath the iconic architectural curves of Zaha Hadid’s ME Dubai, Norwegian artist and poet Ekaterina Nova unveiled her solo exhibition “The Way Home.” The event stood as a rare and inspiring gesture of cultural connection between Norway and the United Arab Emirates, weaving together visual art, poetry, and diplomacyThe exhibition presented Nova’s latest body of work: contemplative large-scale paintings inspired by the Nordic landscape, interlaced with her bilingual poetry. Her practice transforms the canvas into a meditative dialogue between nature, silence, and human emotion. As one guest remarked, the works offered “a quiet, powerful dialogue with nature — a meditation on home, memory, and transformation.”
Alongside the exhibition, Nova also launched her newly published art book From Noise to Silence: A Journey Home. This 161-page bilingual edition (English/Russian) brings together her paintings and poetry, extending the themes of the exhibition into a lasting form. The book, described as both a visual artwork and a literary meditation, embodies her mission to bridge cultures through art and language.
The event gathered an audience of diplomats, cultural leaders, and art patrons. Among them were H.E. Ambassador Javed Malik, President of the Diplomat Business Club, and Anne Lorgen Riise, Commercial Counsellor of the Norwegian Embassy, who both emphasized the growing importance of cultural diplomacy and the unique role art plays in fostering understanding between nations.
Nova’s exhibition and book presentation resonated as more than a showcase of creativity. They became a stage for meaningful dialogue — where brushstrokes and verses took the place of speeches and treaties.
